Before you purchase or start installing the ExBoot software, please make sure
your system meets the following requirements as we can not accept back for
credit, a product once used.

200MHz Intel Pentium Processor (or better)

64MB RAM (or more)

CD-ROM or DVD-ROM used to read the ExBoot
Installation CD-ROM

USB 2.0 slot, if your ExBoot is EXB-0121, you need 2
USB slots. (USB1 will also work but take 4 times longer)

BIOS that supports Boot up from external USB hard drive and make
sure it has been configured as the first option of the boot up sequence. If
your system does not support Boot up from USB device you will have to make use
of the CD to boot up the Exboot unit.

Supported operating systems include Windows XP Home SP1, Windows XP
Professional SP1, Windows 2000 Professional SP4, Windows 2000 Server SP4,
Windows 2000 Advance Server, Windows 2003 Server, and Windows 2003 Enterprise
Server
People who have previously purchased Exboot units with the
version 1.5 software have to upgrade to version 2.5 or WinPE if they are now
using Windows XP SP2
WinPE and 2.5 can be downloaded for free, but
the file is very big and difficult to download, even with and ADSL
line. As a service, upgrade discs can be ordered from us at the cost of
R 100.00 incl postage and VAT:
The update is free to all currently registered customers
and can be downloaded directly from the official ExBoot web site.

Download the file - RecoveryCD-ExBoot-2.50.0-86.iso
(401MB) and save it to your hard drive.
Download the file - RecoveryCD-ExBoot-2.50.0-86.md5
and use that to check that your download of the new recovery cd is
ok.
Then use Nero or similar to burn your new recovery
CD
- Note 1: Your computer must support the "USB boot"
function for external bootup to work properly. You may use the
recovery CD to restore everything from the EXB-0131 device if your
computer doesn't support the "USB boot" function.
- Note 2: The supporting OS for Open File Management function
includes Windows 2003 and XP.
- Note 3: You can arrange HDD partition capacity by yourself. If
your HDD’s capacity is in excess of your total computer data size,
you can allocate more HDD capacity of ExBoot for the storage of your
data as general external HDD enclosures.
